I am Creative Valerie!
Thanks for visiting cveasycrochet.com !
My primary idea to start this website was to keep record of projects I am making. The natural course to share projects came over time, when co-worker, friends and family members asked me how I made them. This was the beginning of this website.
There is a very special group of people I want to thank for this. Many years ago, my Portuguese friends introduced me to the art of crochet. It intrigued me how they crocheted doilies so effortlessly. With their help I got hooked on crocheting. Ever since that time it stayed as a relaxing, and creative hobby of mine. Even though speaking and writing in foreign languages was my goal in early adulthood, crochet has always been my comforting companion.
Enjoy this website and keep it as your companion in starting your crocheting adventure. It is a place of enjoyment, learning, and comfort, where people with the same hobby can exchange their easy creative crochet ideas.

To know more about Valérie:
As a teenager, attending a school of commerce in Germany, a few of my Portuguese friends, sat together during lunch breaks and made decorative table clothes to pay for their education. At that time I had no knowledge of crochet. With their help the beginnings in this craft were set in stone. These girls were my inspiration, my mentors, and my friends.
Living for the first time on my own in a far away city when I was 19 years old, and having a lot of time on my hands, my first bigger project came to life. For my grandmother’s 60th birthday a large table cloth was planned and created as a gift. So much time, effort, and endurance went into this crochet table cloth, but the reward of seeing her joy, enthusiasm, and acceptance in her face were more then I ever thought possible.
My professional formation was guided toward using languages to communicate in the business world. Born and partly raised in France, the French language is an important part of my character, and the building block of my personality. Due to my parents search for job stability, the family moved to Germany when I was 11 years old. Learning the German language was a challenge that made me stronger and formed me in punctuality and endurance. With the introduction of English as a foreign language in the middle school, I knew languages will be a big part of my life.
I was introduced to my now husband while he was stationed in Germany with the United States Army. After years of getting to know each other and starting our little family, we packed our bags and moved to Hawaii, to be closer to his family. Using the languages here was restricted to English as the main communicating language. Then came the blow… my husband was diagnosed with leukemia. This fact has changed our families in the way of managing time. Rethinking what is important, we spend a lot of time together, enjoying moments together, achievements of each individual, and supporting decisions of one another. My two daughters are now teenagers, and old enough to take care of their own needs.
The seed was sown, first loves were rediscovered and crochet became my comforting blanket again for my own sanity. One question was written on the sandy beaches of Hawaii: How can I introduce the crochet craftsmanship to others? About a year-and-a-half ago, my first video was taped and downloaded to my YouTube Channel. With that came the realization that a lot has to improve. Since then, the quality of the videos has improved. It is still a learning processes though. This website has been started to better organize and track of my projects, as well as having a better overview.
My goals are:
- To make this site a place of crochet enjoyment, learning, and comfort, where people with the same hobby can exchange their knowledge and projects.
- To share my knowledge of crochet and projects with others.
- Getting people interested in learning this craft and help them creating their own crochet projects.
Let’s get started!
