This year, I decided crocheting a cute little Santa inspired bowl for teachers’ appreciation in my daughters’ school. By applying Santa’s colors with the red yarn and the accent with the white furry edge this bag filled with goodies has a big success. Especially the children asked if they could get one.

Joining the creativity of crochet and card making is a way to design unique, personal, and unusual combinations. This combination can be fun, entertaining, and display the crochet we love in an different way.

I am so excited about this crochet project and can’t wait to share it with you. So let’s get started:

October’s First Project

Material for Card Project

These are the materials I am using for my October’s challenge.

Based on crochet,

  • a black and a white thread will be used,
  • a crochet hook,
  • card stock paper in black, white and yellow,
  • other things I might be using are: a pair of scissors, glue, tags.

What is your thought on what will be made here?

Rectangular Crochet Placemat

This rectangular crochet placemat is fun to make and shows only the right side of the single crochet stitch. The angles from the center to the four corners give it a slight 3D-look. Choose the type of single crochet look you want to achieve and go for it. Read on for a written instruction on how to make this placemat or click on this video-link.

Single crochet stitches are versatile and the appearance can change not only by the usage of the starting loop: front, back, or both; it can also change it’s appearance by changing the leading thread’s position, as shown in this short video.
